Basketball Meeting 11/24/24
THE MEETING ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR 11/17 HAS BEEN POSTPONED ONE WEEK.
Our first basketball officials meeting of the year will be on Sunday, November 24 @ 3:00 PM at the Navy Marine Club in Peoria Heights. The focus will be on new/updated rules and POEs for the 24-25 season.

Level I Clinic - Basketball
The Peoria Officials Association is hosting a Level I basketball clinic.
When: November 20th
Where: Navy/Marine Club located at 1310 E. Seiberling Ave. Peoria Heights IL, 61616
Time: 5 PM to 9 PM
Cost: POA Members: Free/ Non-Members: $30.00 (pay at the door)
Clinicians: Kevin Hampton & Dan McGann
Who Should Attend: This clinic is open to all basketball officials of all levels of experience

Football/Basketball Test Review & In-Between Stag
The POA In-Between Stag will be Wednesday November 13th starting at 6:00pm. Just prior to the stag (5:30p), we will be conducting a basketball test review. Food and some drink tickets will be provided to all paid members.
For our Basketball members: If this is your first meeting, it is a good time to go ahead and pay your dues for the 24-25 season. You can pay cash or check for $35 dollars to the POA. You are also welcome to mail a check to:

The POA is growing! In the last two years we have added ~20 new members to our football and basketball roster! Let's keep the momentum going into the winter sports season. For all of our football officials, it has been amazing watching you interact in the meetings, discussing video, and simply wanting to get better. For all of our basketball officials, get those legs in shape now if you haven't started already. Middle school basketball is right around the corner and it will be Thanksgiving Tournament time before we know it!
As a reminder year one for any new member is free, so if you have anyone that you know of that isn't already a member of the POA, have them contact Rick or Isiah. They will gladly speak to them regarding football or basketball. Let's keep growing the next generation of officials from all of us "seasoned" members!

POA Preseason Stag and Football Test 2024
All Officials - The preseason stag and football test will be held August 21, 5:30 PM at the Navy Marine Club. Hope to see you there!
NDOA Level II Football Clinic
This IHSA certified Level II clinic is run by the New Direction Officials Association (NDOA).
The camp is specifically designed to help you advance in your football officiating career. This Clinic is aimed at both new and veteran officials alike.
POA members, please plan to pay your dues for the upcoming season: $35 cash or check. For all non-paid members, the fee will be $10.

POA Hall of Fame Induction Banquet
All Officials - The POA Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be June 29, 6:00 PM at the Peoria Elk’s Lodge (on MLK drive next to Madison golf course).
Our menu will include fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, and hors d'oeuvres. Soft drinks and draft beer will be provided along with a cash bar for those who want wine or alcoholic mixed drinks.
As a member of our association, you and your significant other are cordially invited to attend this prestigious event where we will honor our members who have achieved high levels of success in their careers.

IHSA Level II Certified Clinic
This IHSA certified Level II clinic is run in conjunction with the Wierzba Shootout held at Farmington High School. This is an opportunity to evaluate and improve your officiating ability. You will be taught proper 3 Person Mechanics and Officiating Theories.
This camp is aimed at new and veteran officials. There will classroom sessions and on court, live basketball games to work.
This is an IHSA Level II Certified Clinic.

The POA is hosting a Level I Basketball Clinic on Wednesday, November 15th from 5pm-9pm at the Navy & Marine Club in Peoria Heights.

Basketball Test Review & In-Between Stag
The Basketball Test Review and In-Between Stag will be Sunday, November 12, beginning at 4:00 PM at the Navy Marine Club in Peoria Heights. The stag will immediately follow the test review.
If you have not paid your dues, you can do so at the event.
The 2023-24 Basketball meetings will be posted on the POA website and an email will be sent out with the meeting dates as well.
